The roof of our Data Center model lifts to reveal the systems below, and lighting guides tours of the facility. CWMF, which makes asphalt plant equipment, needed something entirely different: a model of a portable silo system that could travel to trade shows. Each was designed around the conversation the client needed to have.

Planning an industrial model

Drawings, CAD or STEP files and photographs help us understand your equipment. We'll talk through which parts people need to see, how your team will demonstrate them and whether the model needs to travel. Related guide: explaining a complex system with a scale model.

Product, process and facility models

A product model can show what's inside a device: the cutaway on our Westinghouse eVinci microreactor makes its internal components visible. A process or system model, like CWMF's portable silo system, shows how the parts of an operation fit together and travels to where your audience is. A facility model, like the Data Center or KBG San Antonio site, shows how buildings, equipment and infrastructure are arranged across a site. What it costs

We price every model by shop time, at about $5,000 per week, with a fixed-cost proposal before work begins. Models range from about $5,000 for a simple study model to $150,000 for the largest, most detailed projects. What is an engineering scale model?

A physical model, built to a chosen scale, that explains how equipment, a facility or a system is arranged. Ours are display models made to tell a clear story to customers, investors or the public.

What do you need to start an industrial model?
