Cobra Dane Retirement Models
We built two desktop replicas of the Cobra Dane radar facility at Eareckson Air Station in Alaska, given as retirement gifts to employees.
A recognizable landmark, at desk size
Working from photographs and a client-supplied 3D file, we built each replica at 1 inch = 12 feet. The brief called for an accurate, instantly recognizable model small enough for a desk or shelf, without the complexity of a large presentation piece.
These replicas had a commemorative purpose rather than a classroom or planning role. The photographs and supplied digital file provided references for representing the facility in a compact physical object. At one inch to twelve feet, the reduction keeps a large radar installation at desktop size. The two finished pieces bring the same recognizable workplace landmark into a personal display format.
