Hitachi Electrical Distribution Model
Archetype3D built this illuminated scale model for Hitachi America, Ltd. to help explain power flow across a scene that includes a data center, an electrical substation, a solar array and homes.
A physical view of a connected power system
The model was designed as the physical setting for a demonstration of AI-directed power flow under changing operating conditions. It brings the sources and users of electricity together in one compact scene, giving presenters a way to show how each part relates to the others.
Roads, vehicles, trees and landscaping provide a familiar setting for the energy infrastructure. The data center, substation, solar array and residential area each have a distinct place in the layout. Colored lighting around the model's zones makes those areas easy to pick out while a presenter explains the system.
Archetype3D built the physical model and installed its lighting. The model was designed to support client-programmed lighting, with Hitachi responsible for that programming. The photographs show the illuminated display as well as the workshop assembly and testing behind it.

The model and its construction
The workshop photographs show the site model separated from its base while LED strips were fitted into the lighting layout. A powered test shows the individual zones before the detailed model surface was placed above them.
