Pepperdine University in beautiful Malibu, California is in the beginning stages of fundraising for its ambitious new development project, The Mountain. Needing to increase awareness and excitement as part of its fundraising efforts, the decision was made to build an impressive scale model to highlight the new property. The lead architects, Perkins & Will, came to us at Archetype3D to design and build the ambitious new model.

This model project was not a small undertaking, but knowing our firm has over 35 years of making world-class models gave both Pepperdine and Perkins & Will the confidence that the model would be spectacular.

The most challenging aspect of this project was the tight timeline, just over two months to complete, due to a very important annual alumni fundraiser at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

We got to work immediately, working with the planners and architects every step of the way. We also worked with another vendor, Neoscape, to integrate audio visual displays with the physical model lighting.

The end result was a beautiful and dramatic centerpiece for the fundraising event. More importantly, the model gave all in attendance a great understanding of the vision for the new development.
