The diorama combines buildings and landscape details in one view. Thatched roofs, miniature figures, trees and vegetation give the scene its small-scale detail.
One hut is shown partly built, with its framework visible beneath the unfinished covering. That detail was part of the museum-display brief, giving the model a way to show how a structure comes together as well as how it looks when complete.
