MILITARY TOPOGRAPHY MODEL, JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO (JBSA)

Military Topography Model Joint Base San Antonio

New Showcase  Scale Models for Parade Grounds and Aircraft Museum

The Urban Collective approached us to design and build a model for their Lackland AFB clients. The project included two highly detailed models of the proposed new parade ground and museum area at the Joint Base San Antonio. The models are show pieces displayed at both the headquarters building and the reception area building.

The Urban Collective is an interdisciplinary design firm that focuses on helping clients achieve their sustainability goals through engaging, educational, and efficient participatory processes tailored to each project’s scale, context, and culture. Award-winning work addresses environmental, fiscal, and social sustainability in ways that support and enhance clients’ missions.

While the company completes private sector work for clients committed to advancing sustainability, most of its work is for U.S. federal agencies including the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the Department of Defense. The Urban Collaborative also works on U.S. federal civil works projects prioritizing resilient systems by integrating regional master planning with capacity building among stakeholders. This includes teaching master planning PROSPECT courses to federal planners and practitioners. The company has helped craft national policies, teach from those policies, and prepare plans aligned with those policies. Additionally, it focuses on municipal planning for cities and counties throughout the country.
