Showing large equipment at a trade show

A good equipment demonstration starts with the questions your sales team hears most often. Trade show models can show the size of a product, the arrangement of its parts or the components hidden inside it. That conversation should guide the display.

Choose the demonstration

A small replica of the outside may be enough if people simply need to recognize the equipment. If the conversation is about how it works, you may need a section that opens or parts that can be swapped. For the Carson Group's ATM models, removable sides and interchangeable options were central to the demonstration.

Remember that it has to travel

We ask about the booth footprint, viewing height and show schedule early. A model that travels needs a way to be packed and set up repeatedly. CWMF's silo-system model was made for trade shows; the ATM models had custom travel cases.

Use video for movement

If the point is to see a machine operating at full speed, video may do that better. A model is useful when someone also needs to understand where the components sit or to point to a particular part while asking a question. The two can work alongside each other.
