MUSEUM EXHIBIT MODEL, ICE CORE

This is one of our latest projects, an ice core exhibit at the Ontario Science Center. The ice core itself was created using various consistencies and mixtures of resin. Lighting was created using illumination from below.
Ontario Science Center is an iconic cultural attraction, the Ontario Science Centre is a global leader in lifelong learning, welcoming more than 53 million visitors since opening its doors in 1969. As a conveyor of public dialogue on technology, science and society, we provide collaborative experiences, support 21st-century learning and spark youth innovation. The Science Centre conceives, designs and builds world-class exhibitions. We are dedicated to community outreach and serve as a vital link in Ontario’s innovation and education ecosystems.
At Archetype3D, we are thrilled to present our work on the ice core museum exhibit—an immersive and educational display that takes visitors on a journey through the Earth’s history. Our team collaborated closely with museum curators and scientists to create a captivating exhibit that showcases the significance of ice cores in understanding climate change.
The ice core museum exhibit serves as a powerful tool to educate and engage visitors, providing them with a unique opportunity to explore the Earth’s past climate patterns and the impacts of human activities. It offers a visually stunning and informative experience that fosters a deeper understanding of our planet’s environmental history.
Ice Core Visualization:
The exhibit features a meticulously crafted replica of an ice core, showcasing the layers and formations that hold valuable information about Earth’s climate. The ice core replica accurately represents the composition and structure of real ice cores, enabling visitors to observe the distinct layers and understand how they provide a historical record of climate change.
Interactive Elements:
To enhance visitor engagement, the ice core exhibit incorporates interactive elements that allow visitors to explore and interpret the data captured in ice cores. Through interactive displays and multimedia presentations, visitors can delve into the science behind ice core analysis, learn about the methods used to extract and interpret the data, and comprehend the significance of this research in understanding climate patterns and future projections.
Educational Content:
The exhibit is complemented by informative panels, illustrations, and diagrams that provide context and explanations about the science of ice core research. Visitors can learn about the drilling process, the extraction of ice cores from polar regions, and the analysis techniques used to study the composition of the ice and the trapped air bubbles within.
The ice core museum exhibit serves as a valuable platform to raise awareness about climate change, highlighting the urgency of addressing this global challenge. It empowers visitors with knowledge and encourages them to take action to protect our planet’s future.
At Archetype3D, we take pride in our ability to create visually captivating and scientifically accurate museum exhibits. Our collaboration on the ice core exhibit showcases our commitment to delivering immersive experiences that educate and inspire audiences.
